So, what are you going to do with this new year?
With these 365 days?
Every one of them full of 24 hours of opportunity.
Each day full of 86.400 seconds.
About the same number of heartbeats. – Mark Shayler
We are always thinking about all the things we want to do, and how we can fill up our lives more to be "fulfilled". The famous bucket list is a list of experiences, things, and encounters we want to have at some point in our life.
It’s a way of life planning as it makes you reflect on what is important to you and it can include professional and personal goals or anything else you can imagine.
Anti-Bucket-List
How about an Anti-Bucket-List for a change?
Figuring out what you don’t like or don’t want - gives you a better understanding of yourself and what you do want.
What you imagine for yourself and what you say No to is rooted in your interests, purpose, and passions. Your bucket list and your anti-bucket list should always align with who you are and what you care about.
Your bucket list keeps you dreaming, motivated, and working toward a goal. It makes you stay excited about life and connects you with what might be your sense of purpose.
Change Perspective
How about changing perspective and looking at what you could eliminate to make space for the things you want to welcome in?
Things that bother you, you would like to get rid of, you don’t want to do again, where you don’t like to go, what you don’t want to put up with.
The Anti-Bucket list can also be the things or mistakes you want to avoid at all costs.
Things you hope never to experience.
Thinking in terms of what to avoid can help you to have more space, time, and patience for the incredible things you would like to do, explore, learn and see.
Along those lines – here are some examples of the things on my Anti-Bucket-List
I DO NOT want to….
…have a bad fight with a dear friend
…do bungee jumping
…get a tattoo
…hang out with toxic people
…ever stop learning
…ignore my health
…live in the hecticness of a big city
…worry about things I can’t control anyways
…speak negatively about others
…only buy books online
What do you put on our Anti-Bucket-List?
2023 Is Comin' Up
What are your thoughts on 2023?
How are you moving forward?
What is the path you see ahead of you?
Be curious! Be wild! Go for it - whatever your vision is! Try things out!
Keep your feet on the ground, and your eyes to the sky! - as Libby DeLana says.
I don’t like to just stumble into a new year….I like to look back and reflect on the year behind me….and enjoy letting my ideas, imagination, and plans for the year ahead of me unfold in my mind….put pen to paper, formulate ideas, connect some dots and embrace a new year, filling 365 days with exciting stuff.
